The Memorial Display was originally located at the top of the escalators inside the Penrith RSL Club’s entrance prior to the major renovations completed in 2025.
The Memorial Display was dismantled and put in storage due to the renovations; however, the new City of Penrith RSL sub-Branch Military Museum is now open. Club Members and visitors are always invited and welcome to visit the Museum, when the Club is open.
The new Museum is located on the ground floor of the Club, in the reception foyer, nearest the elevator.
In 2012 a new medals and memorabilia display area was established by sub-Branch Volunteers. Medals, uniforms and artworks were put on show to the public with the official opening of the Penrith RSL ANZAC display.
Veterans, politicians and students were on hand for the opening of the walk-through display, which was designed by TAFE Nepean College students and funded in part by the federal government’s Saluting their Service program. The Volunteers worked tirelessly to create a display that would honour and respect the Military Service of many Veterans, many of whom where from Penrith. The Memorabilia Display was a significant attribute to the sub-Branch, created through the efforts of those Volunteers, their efforts should never be forgotten.
The display was a truly sacred place for many to visit, and to remember the service and sacrifice of Veterans, fallen comrades and family members.
The new Museum is now open at all times when the Penrith RSL Club is open.
Entry to the Museum may be restricted temporarily when specific work is undertaken.
